I made it out to the park with my buddy Damian a couple days ago to fish a few hours. We spent the morning fishing the glades, the snook bite has been great. Only managed to get one good one to hand, cause they cut through the 25lb tippet with ease. But they were in schools crushing mullet, mixed in with some good sized jacks. I am itchin' right now...... Since my Louisiana trip, I've only fished Everglades National Park twice...... First day, jumped and lost 4 or 5 juvenile tarpon, landed one jack, sight fished in shallow water..... Second trip, caught one 20" seatrout, and a couple early 20" snook..... I wish I was in LA catching reds..... [Everglades seatrout from a couple weeks ago] So I went ahead and drew a redfish from our trip. When Adam Miller from CCA Florida asked if I could paint a redfish mount for them I was stoked! It was a little more difficult than I anticipated, but I think it turned out sweet. Seeing my artwork come to life in 3D was awesome. This mount was purchased in a live auction by Capt. Rick Murphy, host of "Sportsman's Adventures" and the "Chevy Insider Fishing Report" and is now proudly displayed in his home. CCA Florida had me come out and do a print signing at Florida Gulf Coast University for their Eagles Chapter Banquet.
